While the construction of the Shops at Wiregrass appears to moving along well, the immediate residential development of Wiregrass is up in the air.
With the pullout by Pulte from serving as the master builder, today the Tampa Tribune indicates that the owner/developer is seeking another company to develop the ranch.

Master Builder for Wiregrass withdraws
Recently it was reported that Pulte Homes no longer will be the master builder for Wiregrass. While Pulte still retains some lots, it has no plans in the near future to build in Wiregrass, nor is there any indication other builders are considering Wiregrass at this time.
The news is not surprising. Given the current real estate market, in my opinion developing a new community would be unwise until the market improves.
There are plenty of homes (resales and new homes) available in the New Tampa/Wesley Chapel market however.

Stores coming to the Shops at Wiregrass In Wesley Chapel

The St. Pete Times reports that site plans filed in the county records reflect the following stores slotted for the Shops at Wiregrass (<------VIRTUAL TOUR) in Wesley Chapel, Florida. It should be noted that this list has not been confirmed by representatives of the Mall developer at this time.
Yes, BARNES and NOBLES is on the list! (This is the question I get asked most when people inquire about the new malls coming to Wesley Chapel.)

Wiregrass Homes For Sale
I receive a lot of traffic on my other blog: http://www.newtampahomes.blogspot.com/ and my real estate website: http://www.tampahomesontheweb/ with inquiries into new home sales for Wiregrass.
Well, all I can say is that you will have to be patient. While the Wiregrass development recently was approved by the Pasco County Board of Commissioners, the developers have a lot of work to do.
There is no infrastructure in place for the Wiregrass community at this time. Remember, this is 5,000 acres of ranch land. Cattle and cowboys don't need much. The rest of us however do!

That will all take time. The builder/developer recently sent me a communication indicating that they have NO projections at this time for when homes will become available for purchase. All things take time. I would anticipate it will take about a year to put the infrastructure in place in the first phase of this development. The developers have a 20 year projected build out.
They are moving quickly with the Shops at Wiregrass however. This 800,000 retail establishment (mall) is scheduled to open next year.
